TFIOS Experience!

I was a one hell lucky girl when I got the chance to have an advance screening ticket for two from Jam 88.3 before it hits theaters. I was so eager to get a ticket that I always send a message to my friends who are working from the said radio station. Now you know how and where I got my movie pass. But before I watch it, I didn't have the chance to read the story though I have a soft copy in my phone. I chose not to read it because I want everything to be a surprise. I don't want to see myself inside the movie house comparing the film from its book. I only want to enjoy every bit of its plot and I did really enjoy it, a lot!

Before I give the summary of the story, I'll give first a short background about the film. The film is based on the bestselling novel written by John Green, an American author of young adult fiction who also wrote Looking For Alaska which is his debut novel. TFIOS is his most recent novel published in January 2012. It has a whopping 10 million copies in print and has spent 130 consecutive weeks on the New York Times best seller list.

The Fault in our stars or known as TFIOS is a love story about Hazel Grace Lancaster (played by Shailene Woodley) and Augustus Waters (played by Theo James). They met in a cancer support group and fell in love with each other. Hazel, who has terminal cancer, carries around an oxygen tank at all times. Gus lost a leg to cancer. In one of the meetings she catches the eye of a teenage boy, and through the course of the meeting she learns the boy's name is Augustus Waters. After the meeting, Gus approached Hazel then they talked for a while. He invited her to his house where they revealed their diseases. Hazel reveals she has thyroid cancer that has spread to her lungs. Augustus had osteosarcoma, but he is now cancer-free after having his leg amputated. Though they both have diseases, it doesn't hinders them in finding true connection that goes beyond their shared illness, a connection based on a mutual love of witty banter and hardcore philosophizing. When Gus finds out that Hazel’s biggest dream is to meet her favorite author Peter Van Houten and find out what happens after his novel “An Imperial Affliction” stops mid-sentence, Gus paid all the expenses and flew to Amsterdam where the author lives to get Hazel’s questions answered. Apparently, the question was not being answered but a secret was revealed. So if you guys want to know the secret, read the book or watch the movie.

This movie is just a typical love story that sometimes happened in our society but this story will let you see and feel the deeper meaning of love. It'll give you so much realizations and life lessons. My only advice is to bring a handkerchief or a tissue with you, cause I'll guarantee you'll burst into tears because pain demands to be felt.

Starting Over Again: The Movie That Will Tear Every Audience's Heart

Have you experienced loving someone and you thought it's perfect, but one day you wake up and everything has changed, you wondered what went wrong but no one could answer your question?
Starting Over Again is a movie about missed opportunity and lost love. The story revolves  around a former lovers Ginny played byTony Gonzaga and Marco played by Piolo Pascual have long gone their separate ways, but the circumstances of their breakup have left both of them with unanswered questions. After four years of their break up, Marco wrote a letter to Ginny about their story, when and where did it started and how does it end. Ginny's thought was caught by the last part of the letter saying that Marco is still hoping that one day they'll see each other and will be together again. The movie goes backward and forward as their past slowly unraveled. I don't want to be a spoiler, so the readers must watch it to know more about the story, if they will be together again or they met for a closure.
Every line from this movie will struck its audience's emotion. One of my favorite line is adik ka na naman sa pag-asa, try mo kayang lumaklak ng realidad, at first I laughed but I realized that reality will lead someone who's still holding his/her past to let go and move on. Hope is a positive attitude but when it comes to love it can be poisonous.
Speaking of the word "pride" if you'll use this a detergent it's good but if you posses this in life it's bad. Pride is the main reason why Ginny and Marco gone separate ways, if Ginny didn't waste her time to explain to Marco what she has in her mind and heart maybe Patricia De Guia played by Iza Calzado won't have a chance to intervene in their lives. She lost her chance, she didn't give importance to it. Actually I hate Toni Gonzaga's role because she made him realize that he is all that she ever wanted and they will be together as they build their dreams. There is so much to learn from this movie. Yes it has flaws! But, it will teach you a lot of lessons. The best thing that I learned from this story is to let go of something that is not meant for you anymore.
Starting Over again is a well made romantic comedy movie. Kudos to its Director Olivia Lamasan and its writer who has lots of hugots. It has a modern and unique ending. You won't regret watching it and I'll guarantee you won't easily forget about it because it will embrace your mind and stir those emotions that you are hiding for a long time.
